The Downingtown Area School District provides a continuum of services in accordance with Federal and State laws and our mission to educate all students.  We are dedicated to the facilitation and supervision of programs that support students with special needs in cooperation with families and district school building staff.

Chapter 14 Special Education
In accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Chapter 14 of the Pennsylvania School code, the Downingtown Area School District provides special education services for all eligible students in grades K-12.

Chapter 15, Section 504
In compliance with state and federal laws, the Downingtown Area School District will provide to each protected handicapped student without discrimination or cost to the student or family those related aids, services or accommodations that are needed to provide equal opportunity to participate in and obtain the benefits of the school program.

 

Chapter 16 - Gifted Education
The Downingtown Educational Enrichment Program is designed to provide individualized instruction that enhance the strengths and talents of identified academically gifted students.
