Food Services Schools have a key role to play in promoting the health, safety, and well-being of students. While families are the primary caregivers for children, the Downingtown Area School District seeks to provide students with the concepts of how to take responsibility for their own health. It is the goal of this website to help bring about positive changes in our schools and classrooms that can help address widespread health issues and promote a healthier lifestyle for our students.

Voluntary Recall - 9/24/12
ARAMARK received notification that Cargill is conducting a voluntary product recall of certain ground beef products. A voluntary recall is done in cooperation with the USDA/FDA as part of their effectiveness check program, and does not mean there are any confirmed issues with the products' integrity. As soon as we received notification, we immediately removed the recalled products from service.
Cargill has assured us that this recall is being done in an abundance of caution, and that there have been no illnesses associated with the recalled products. Based upon the information currently available, this situation does not appear to present a health risk to students.
