Counselors at University of PA 1.jpg

Counselors from Downingtown East High School were invited by the Admissions Office of the University of Pennsylvania to participate in the Counselor Connection.  This program offered our counselors a chance to gain insight into the selective admissions process in order to benefit our students. The program was filled with academic, cultural, and social programming designed to provide a more intimate glimpse into the admissions process and the university.

Citadel Heart of Learning.png

Citadel has teamed up with the Chester County Intermediate Unit to honor our area’s most outstanding educators.

Each year, Citadel receives thousands of nominations for this nationally recognized award. They carefully review each nomination and then narrow the list to 15 finalists.

Each of the finalists receives $500 to use in his or her classroom. From this elite group, three winners are selected.

Each winner receives the Citadel Heart of Learning Award along with an additional $1,500 for use in the classroom.

There is an added incentive to encourage students to nominate their favorite teacher…several $50 gift cards will be raffled to students who have submitted nominations!

Please visit their website at for details and to nominate your favorite teacher today!
